This week, I went for two runs—one through the forest and the other in the heart of downtown. The contrast between the peaceful woods and the city’s buzz gave me a lot to reflect on.

This morning, I had planned to reward myself with a new potted plant. It’s a small tradition I’ve kept: every time I reach a milestone, I buy myself a little plant—something green, growing, and lasting. But this time, after a disappointing mid-term presentation, I didn’t feel like I deserved one. 🥲 I felt defeated.

Still, I tried to remind myself: Don’t let others’ comments define your happiness. You have to be your own source of joy.
In the end, I couldn’t find a flower I liked at the morning market. I was hoping for a small, long-lasting plant—not one of those seasonal grass flowers that wither quickly. But then, something else lifted my spirits.
While running, I stumbled upon a patch of wisteria. My favorite flower. Their soft purple tones, the way they sway in the wind, their subtle fragrance—it was like a gentle reminder from nature that beauty often comes unannounced. They’re not showy, not loud—just quietly elegant. Just how I like it.

Sometimes, it sounds a bit crazy, but honestly—I feel like I have many good friends in nature. The trees, the flowers, the wind… they listen without judging.
