Workshop-Functional additive manufacturing in 2D & 3D, novel inks, and LASER based patterning technologies
Today, I attended an inspiring online workshop hosted in Sweden, focused on “Functional Additive Manufacturing in 2D & 3D: Novel Inks and LASER-Based Patterning Technologies.” I really appreciate this kind of remote event — it saves both time and money! 😅
The workshop is organized by Emerging Printed Electronics Research Infrastructure (EMERGE), a project committed to pushing the boundaries of flexible, large-area electronics and photonics. I was excited to discover EMERGE and learn more about its role in advancing research in this field.
Researchers and innovators from RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden), XTPL (Poland), Quantica (Germany), n-ink (Sweden), and Akoneer (Lithuania) showcased their latest technologies, specialized printers, and live demos. It was fascinating to see how each team approaches the challenges of functional printing.
One thing that stood out: even for these experienced teams, formulating and printing with a new, homemade custom ink is no easy task. That was both humbling and encouraging to hear.
So — note to self — stay confident, Emily. You will get that ink to print perfectly one day. 💪
